After taking a month off to contemplate the fate of this blog, I have decided to continue on this blogging journey. I received such great feedback from my readers that really put things into perspective for me. I heard from family, friends, and strangers telling me their feelings on the subject of re-evaluation. One thing was clear through the emails I received, my readers wanted me to continue on.
My family and friends let me know how much my blog meant to them. They told me that they felt more connected to us despite the miles between us. They told me that they enjoyed watching our family evolve, little Ian grow up and now Claire. Our grandparents even took the time to get connected to the world wide web in order to see our blog. The message was clear; keep blogging.
I also received email and comments from blog readers around the world. Most of these people are mamas like me who have the same interests, values, and beliefs. Some have started their own blogs and we support each other by reading and commenting on each others posts. In my little corner of the world, I have yet to meet any like-minded people who believe in attachment parenting and other natural parenting styles. I have connected with many mamas/women online who share in my philosophy on parenting, and natural family living. All of this occurred because of blogging and I am so grateful for their support. So this is why I will keep blogging.
Some people may notice a change of pace and content on this blog. I have been thinking about how much of our life I want to be private and what I want to be public. I felt that in the past I was sharing too much personal information about our lives. I now have found two other ways to record the little details of our lives that I want to remember but keep private. I recently discovered the joys of journaling by hand and have been enjoying documenting motherhood that way. The other method I will be experimenting with is memory keeping/scrapbooking. I am looking forward to documenting our lives using other methods than blogging.
In the next few days, I will be working on updating this space. You will notice some changes to the layout as well as some of my archives will be coming back. I am excited to begin this journey again and am thankful to all of you who have stayed with us over the past few years. Check back on Tuesday as I will be starting my 30 Days of Joy project inspired by Bluebirdbaby.
